Cinnamon: useful properties and contraindications

Useful properties of cinnamon

In cinnamon bark contains:

Cinnamon oil with antimicrobial action is present in the composition of some medicines for cold, warming the various oils and oils irritant. The essential oil is widely used in aromatoterapiya, helps with nausea and dizziness, helps normalize cholesterol levels, stimulates circulation, has a beneficial effect on internal organs, including the liver, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and cardiovascular system. Cinnamon in traditional medicine

Remedy for cough and cold:

to warm a tablespoon of natural honey, add a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon;

to take for three days, three times a day before meals.

in a glass of boiling water to dissolve two tablespoons of honey and teaspoon of cinnamon;

drink daily for a month.

When inflammation of the bladder:

in a glass of warm water dissolve two tablespoons of cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey.

Cinnamon — contraindications

Attention! During pregnancy it is not recommended to add cinnamon to your food, use seasonings that contain cinnamon, use cinnamon essential oil and products based on them, because cinnamon helps to reduce the uterus. The use of cinnamon is recommended to reduce the period of breast feeding. Cinnamon cannot be inserted into food to children up to three years, and from the age of three it can only be used in the composition of bakery products.

The use of cinnamon lowers blood pressure, so it is not shown hypotensive. Cinnamon oil can increase headache with high temperature. Coumarin, contained in cinnamon (as in many other plants) in a minimal amount, in high doses can cause headaches, overdose is liver damage. Essential oil of cinnamon irritates the skin, it should be used extremely carefully.
