The main plants used for medicinal purposes
Mistletoe . The infusion of stem and leaf in preparations of melena and akovita applicable as a hypotensive, reduce the myometrium, anti-tumor, as well as when applied topically as a diversionary tool in myositis and radiculitis. The young shoots of mistletoe contain tar, derivatives of choline, an alkaloid viskotoksin, saponins, glycosides, carotene, vitamin C.
Walnuts . Thanks to the rich chemical composition of different parts of the tree, walnuts have found wide application both in folk and in scientific medicine. Nuclei contain large amounts of inorganic phosphorus, vitamin B2, urates. The leaves contain ascorbic acid (up to 3%), vitamins P, b, carotene, essential oil, hereupon, tannins. Decoctions made from the rind of green walnuts and leaves are used as anti-inflammatory drugs for wounds and mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract. Powder obtained from the leaves of walnut, has insecticidal action. Decoction used for baths in case of allergic dermatoses, mycotic diseases of the feet; in the form of lotions used in tuberculosis skin pink acne. Hemorrhoids folk medicine advises to do warm poultices of boiled walnut leaves.
Ortosifon . Infusion and decoction of the leaves has a diuretic effect.
Aspen . From the bark of gotbetter used as binding agents and anticancer drugs. In the kidney contains the glycoside salicin, carotene, vitamin C, essential oils and other substances. In the form of tinctures, buds are used in folk medicine for rheumatism, gout, and infectious diseases as a febrifuge. From kidney made ointment used for burns and hemorrhoids.
Sedge, Parusa . The leaves serve as raw material for production of the alkaloid with N-holinoblokirutm act applied at spasms of arterioles and to enhance uterine tone. Prepared from the leaves decoction has bronchogram effect.
The fenugreek . The decoction of seeds (daily dose of one teaspoon per Cup of water) contains nicotinic acid and mucus, as an emollient for the bronchi.
Male fern . Rhizome contains fluvastatinom and filiksovaâ acid, albutein, tannins. Widely used as a vermifuge (mainly for getting rid of tapeworms). Also it is made anthelminthic drug filiksan.
Lobed nightshade (bird) . Grass contains tonic substances and raw material for the production of cortisone and progesterone.
Shepherd’s purse . Liquid extract and infusion of the herb contains large amounts of inorganic potassium, vitamin K, substances that reduce the uterus (hemostatic with uterine bleeding); sokogonnym, affecting all mucous membranes. In folk medicine, the decoction of the herb is applied in the presence of stones in the renal pelvis and gall bladder, inflammation of the bladder, rheumatism. Sometimes used as an antidiarrheal remedy diluted in water (1:1) juice fresh herbs (a tablespoon 3 times a day).
Red pepper (Cayenne) . The fruits contain irritants and sokogonnym substances, carotene, vitamin C, essential oils and other substances. In folk medicine used in the form of vodka infusions internally for colds, “stomach indigestion”, externally for rubbing into the skin for rheumatism, lumbago, pain in the joints. But we should not forget that pepper is not harmless. Ingesting quantities of spices or the preparations thereof can cause acute gastro-intestinal distress, and lengthy and repeated local exposure to alcohol or water extracts of pepper leads to reddening of the skin accompanied by burning and pain.
Peach . The seed contains a lot of vitamin A, inorganic potassium and iron, and nicotinic acid. From the seeds produce a fatty oil used in the pharmaceutical industry for the manufacture of oil solutions of various medicinal substances.
Parsley curly . The whole plant, especially the fruit contains a lot of calcium, iron, vitamin A, phosphorus, magnesium, oxalate; sokogonnym on all mucous membranes, with the exception of the bronchi; on papaverinopodobnymi antispasmodics urinary tract.
